UK Refining Operations - Middlesbrough

D1 began commercial refining of biodiesel in Middlesbrough on Teesside in 2006. Our Middlesbrough site is located close to wharfs on the River Tees and rail sidings.

D1 deployed the first four production D1 20s to the site during 2006 to create a production capacity of 32,000 tonnes per annum. A fifth, upgraded D1 30 unit capable of producing 10,000 tonnes is now in operation, increasing the site capacity to 42,000 tonnes.

In addition, the Middlesbrough site is our R&D facility for enhancements to refinery units and development of future units. The site houses our labs for biodiesel testing and training facilities.
