Dr. Henk Joos

Plant Science and Agronomy

Dr. Henk Joos has over twenty years of experience in commercial research development and project management in the fields of plant breeding and genetics. He holds a Ph.D. in Biology (Genetics) from the University of Ghent. Dr Joos joined D1 from Bayer CropScience. Dr. Joos began his business career with Plant Genetic Systems in Belgium in 1986 and founded the global 'In Vigor' canola breeding programme which formed the basis for Bayer CropScience's global leadership in canola crop production. Dr. Joos became the Global Head of Breeding and Product Development at Aventis CropScience in 2000, supervising activities in corn, soybean, cotton, canola, rice and various tropical crops in 20 different temperate and tropical countries. In 2002, the year Bayer acquired Aventis CropScience, he was appointed Head of Molecular & Biochemical Analytical Services, charged with reorganizing the analytical and quality control laboratories of Bayer CropScience worldwide.

Adrian Tattersall

Global Refining

Adrian Tattersall joined D1 from QVF Process Systems Limited, part of De Dietrich Process Systems, where he was Managing Director. Adrian has 25 years experience in the chemical and pharmaceutical process and equipment industries. He joined the company in 2001, and led its transformation into a core part of the De Dietrich Process Systems Group. Adrian began his career in 1982 at ICI, and held various commercial and engineering positions before becoming Operations Manager at ICI Performance Chemicals, Teesside, in 1989. From 1992 to 1997, he was Site Engineer and Business Improvement Manager for ICI Petrochemicals on Teesside, with responsibility for the site restructuring plan and production improvement programmes. In 1997, Adrian became Business General Manager of ETB , a technology business within ICI Chlor Chemicals, Runcorn, and was responsible for the transformation of ETB into a highly innovative business based around four sites with an integrated supply chain. Adiran led the business into the new ownership of Ineos in 2000. He left ETB in 2001 to take up the Managing Directorship at QVF.
